Our Favorite Outdoor Fire Features for Fall
Fall is a glorious time of year that allows Plano homeowners a chance to really enjoy their backyard spaces. With the cooler evenings and nights, the fall of the year is the perfect time to sit out on the patio, make a nice fire, and just enjoy the presence of your family. We must be honest and admit that we have a few favorites when it comes to fire features. When it comes to class and simplicity, it is hard to beat a chiminea. A freestanding fire pit that holds a relatively small bundle of firewood, this fire feature is often made of clay or metal and is distinguishable by its built-in chimney. As chimineas do a great job of keeping fires contained, they can be a great option for a small space. They are great for intimate gatherings, or for a very romantic evening with your spouse. Sometimes simplicity is the best!
Gas Fire Pits
If you are a bit more adventurous, a gas fire pit might be a great option for you. Gas fire pits can be either pre-fabricated or built from brick, natural stone, and even concrete. They are plumbed with gas lines which provide fuel for the fire, and usually have a top layer of stone, ceramic “logs”, or even special glass pebbles that glow as the fire flames up through them. While gas fire pits are usually more expensive than simpler wood-burning options, once you experience their beauty and ease of use, you will likely find them to be worth every penny!

The third and most involved option is the outdoor fireplace. Built to resemble a traditional indoor fireplace complete with hearth and chimney, outdoor fireplaces are permanent structures usually constructed from stone or brick. They can be built into a covered patio or free-standing, and either gas powered or wood-burning. An outdoor fireplace perfectly merges the charm of gathering fireside with the excitement of a natural outdoor setting.
